Hull & East Yorkshire Mind aims to support people with mental health problems, their families and carers through the provision of services and the promotion of good practices in mental health. We are an independent local organisation, relying on donations and funding to continue delivering support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know, I do a lot of running. Over the course of the last few years, i've used my hobby to raise money for a number of worthy charities. This year is slightly different. I'm running for a charity very close to my heart.

In 2004, I lost my dear dad, who after suffering a series of mental health problems, took his own life. Since then, i've watched a series of friends, acquaintances, strangers and celebrities follow the same path. So, this year, i'm running for MIND, a charity which seeks to break down the taboos of mental health problems such as depression, and help those suffering to deal with their issues as effectively as they can.

I have no targets, just an open page for anyone who'd like to support my local MIND charity as I take on a series (12 so far!) of endurance races - to date I am registered for the No Ego headtorch run in Dalby Forest in January; the East Hull 20 mile race and Silverstone Half Marathon in March; the Hornsea 1/3rd Marathon and Manchester Marathon in April; the North Lincs Half Marathon and Beverley 10km in May; the Swaledale Fell Marathon in June; the Dalby Forest No Ego Half Marathon Trail Run in July; The Great North Run in September, and the Yorkshire Marathon and Gruesome Twosome in October.

Any support, from pounds to cheers, is appreciated!
