Story

One of my very close friends, Marine Richard Hollington, Royal Marines Commando died of wounds received during Operation Herrick 12 in Afghanistan, on 20 June 2010 in New Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He was the 300th serviceman to die on operations in Afghanistan since 2001 and will be forever missed by family and friends.

On 28th May 2011 along with his father, brother and friends I will be walking the South Downs Way non-stop, all 103 miles from Eastbourne to Winchester in an expected time of 36 hours.  We are looking between us (around 17 people) to raise £30,000 for this one event.  We are raising money for Help for Heroes so they can continue their great support of injured troops throughout rehabilitation from injuries and needed support for the rest of their lives.

Please be generous in your donations. As you can imagine it is going to be a very tough challenge and will be incredibly rewarding and encouraging knowing we will have raised a lot of money in Ricks memory and for those injured in the line of duty.
