Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a progressive neurological disorder that affects adult men and women. It is caused by degeneration or atrophy of nerve cells in the brain which can result in problems with movement, balance and automatic functions of the body. There is currently no cure for MSA.
I wish to raise £2,000 in support of the MSA Trust and Peter Small, one of the 3,000 people affected in the UK. Peter was always a fit and keen sportsman. When he was 49 years old he ran the London Marathon. Peter has been a constant supporter of my running; giving me encouragement and coaching, always with good humour.
I am delighted and honoured to have been given a place by the MSA Trust to run the Virgin London Marathon on 21 April 2013. I will be 49 years old.
The Multiple System Atrophy Trust is the UK’s primary funder of research into both a cause and cure to this indiscriminate disease.
All of their services are offered free of charge, yet the Trust receives no statutory funding whatsoever and relies entirely on voluntary donations.
I appreciate times are financially difficult for everyone, but please give what you can to the MSA Trust.
Thank you.
