The Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge · 18 February 2018

The objective of the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation is to encourage and assist young people to 'climb as high as they can dream', by providing annual scholarships and bursaries for their training and personal development in the pursuit of their ambitions.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As part of the Air Cadet Junior Leader Course, we are trying to raise money whilst conquering the Yorkshire Three Peaks in memory of John Thornton, through the JTYAF charity.

John Thornton was a previous top graduate of the Junior Leader Course IV, and later joined the Royal Marines as an Officer. However, he was tragically killed in Afghanistan in 2008; leading to the formation of the John Thornton's Young Achievers Foundation.

10 years on from his tragic death we are still able to remember him through the amazing work provided by this Charity, which supports so many young people from a wide range of Youth Organisations.

On Sunday 18th February, we are hoping to complete the Challenge within 12 hours whilst carrying 10Kg of 'dead weight', and it would be fantastic if you could support us and this incredible Charity.
