Once again – I am participating in the "Walk to Work" on 18 May in aid of the futures industry charity, Futures for Kids (FFK).

Essentially, FFK raises funds for charities which have the objective of improving the lives of children – often in seriously deprived circumstances – in the UK and overseas.  Charities helped to date include Demelza House, EveryChild, HopeHIV, Fairbridge, WhizzKids and Living and Loving.  For information, the charity has raised over £1 million since being established in 2008 – and we hope to build on this achievement with the 2012 “Walk to Work”.

So far as I am concerned, I have to confess that, living as I do in Dorset, an authentic Walk to Work would be time consuming and a bit too challenging – at least for me!  Instead, I will be tramping in from Kingston – a mere 10 miles, so not particularly heroic, but still very much in aid of a good cause.
