Story

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......I have completed my first triathlon in June at Blenheim Palace in 1hr 34mins wanted to complete in 1hr 45mins so over the moon was an understatement. Now the dust has settled I have over analysed every part of the triathlon and believe I can get under 1hr 30mins so with that in mind I have entered London Triathlon on 7th August.

Before this though on Sunday 1st August I am competing Nokia Open Water swim which is 2.25 miles down the Thames  from Hampton Court to Kingston-upon-Thames!!!!

For me this an opportunity to do something that can help raise money for a cause very close to my heart, Cancer Research UK......THANK YOU FOR EVERYONE THAT HAS SPONSORED ME SO FAR.....EVERY PENNY COUNTS..........PLEASE SPONSOR ME!!!
As you may know, Mama passed away on the 7th February 2007 after enduring a long battle against cancer.

6 years ago she began to experience back pain and gradually lost the ability to walk, all our worst nightmares were confirmed when 6 months later she was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer after lengthy tests. This time though it wasn't going to be the textbook recovery as before as the cancer was in the spinal fluid and lining of the brain.

Even with the loss of her mobility, sight, hearing, sense of touch and taste (and many other disabilities) she always remained to be upbeat and positive.

In January of 2007 we were given the devastating news that the cancer was progressing and shortly after she was rushed into hospital and decided she could no longer continue her fight........5 days later she fell asleep!!

She valued everyday and everyone around her, she was the most selfless person you'd ever be fortunate to meet. All she ever wanted out of life was good things for others and there was never a day she put her needs above someone elses.

She told me to make sure I "had purpose in my life and don't be scared"..........I live by those words now and the strength Mama showed, even up to her last moments, is truly awe inspiring. We will never really know what she went through every day as she made sure she didn't worry us, that shows what kind of amazing person she was and the strength one person can have.....So this is for you Mama!x

By doing events such as these we are continuing the fight against cancer for all those that are no longer with us. Each and everyone of our lives have been affected by cancer in one way or another so please give as much or as little as you can.

I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH xx
