Story
It having nearly finished me last year i am again running the Virgin London Marathon on 25th April 2010!!! Having experienced the pain of the Marathon once I can assure you that there are not many things in this world that i would do it again for but Samuel Austin is one!!!!
Samuel Austin is 9 and is the eldest child of our very good friends Henry & Sara Austin. Samuel is at school with our three children and is in the same class as our middle child Amelia.
Samuel is a very bright, funny, brave and determined boy who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. Samuel in his nine years has had to undergo many treatments and interventions, and take literally thousands of medications, pills, tablets, nebulised drugs, IV drugs etc. He doesn't want any of this but he does it without complaint and unlike my Marathon, which I will eventually finish, Samuel’s treatment goes on day-after-relentless-day!
Cystic Fibrosis is a cruel condition that affects the internal organs, principally the lungs, and around half of those with CF can expect to live over 35 years. Scientists are now so close to developing a medication that could literally save Samuel’s life. Time is of the essence and none of this can be achieved without significant funds.
I appreciate that there are very many worthy causes and that times are tight but Samuel and I are really grateful for any donations/sponsorship you could make. Thank you in advance for your donation – in only 5 years your money could contribute to an incredible success story.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life.
