Archie's 100-Golf-Holes-In-A-Day · 30 May 2017

We introduce children to golf, from all backgrounds, creating golfers. We do this because golf can change lives. Through the sport, we tackle issues of inactivity, mental health and provide opportunities for children to play golf in schools, in communities and continue playing in clubs.

Story

I am hoping to raise funds and awareness for The Golf Foundation by hitting a golf ball the 83 mile distance from Coast to Coast.

Starting at Maryport Golf Club on the West Coast on Monday, May 28, 2018, I will play 15 entire courses along the cross-country route before completing my challenge at Tynemouth Golf Club on the East Coast on Friday, June 1.

I am very grateful to the 15 golf clubs across Cumbria, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear, who have kindly allowed me to play their courses along the approximate path of Hadrian's Wall.

Last year, I successfully played 100 holes in a single day to raise money and awareness for The Golf Foundation. I played six full rounds, starting at 5.30am with two rounds at Cavendish Golf Club in Buxton, followed by two rounds at New Mills Golf Club before finishing with two rounds at Mellor and Townscliffe Golf Club.

I played off men’s yellow tees to complete the 108-hole, 33,262 yard challenge, which took me over 16 hours to complete. I covered a distance of nearly 25 miles with a buggy to help share the strain.

Details of my 2017 challenge can be found at:

I am supporting the Golf Foundation as it is committed to giving all children and young people the opportunity to experience golf and the benefits it has to offer.
