Story

Archie's three mile walk

Archie tragically lost his little baby sister on the 3rd January 2012. During the funeral we said that he never ever once showed any selfishness at the attention she got, and was always proud to show her off and introduce her to people.

This was absolutely true, and her loss has been felt profoundly by him. He still asks where she is and when she's coming back, as well as telling us regularly that he misses her and loved her.

After we lost Sophia we wanted to help celebrate her life by fundraising for two great causes. One of these was the Great Western Air Ambulance, a charity that relies on public donations to fly Critical Care Doctors to people in need of urgent medical attention, as well as providing extremely fast transfer times to hospital for those who might not otherwise survive.

This fantastic charity sent a helicopter to our house when we were most in need, and although they could not save our daughter's life we always wanted to help repay them in some way and maybe provide a happy ending to another family in need.

Your donations were fantastic and well received at the time, but now we're doing something different. The Great Western Air Ambulance charity are holding another "Great Western Walk" around Ashton Court Estate in Bristol. Archie will be taking part, doing the three mile walk in memory of his loved sister.

We hope you can see the challenge facing him - at three years old this will be a toddle and a half! He will of course be supported by his full-time servants (also known as his mum and dad) who will be looking after him on route and ensuring that he safely completes the distance.

We know times are hard, and we know that we have already asked for donations recently, but if everyone could spare the cost of a pint or even a trip to the cinema this would go a long way to helping us keep this amazing charity flying and bringing hope to those in need.
