My story

On March 13th 2013, five intrepid Plymouth Argyle supporting friends will fly off to Africa to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. Chris Webb, Mike Newell, Tony Bouch, Alastair Sinclair and Andrew Hatch are the valiant Pilgrims that are attempting to raise an amazing £25,000 for the wonderful St Luke's Hospice, Plymouth.

All of us, are putting a lot of effort into this adventure and it would be wonderful to think we don't have to worry about fundraising but concentrate on training for the great event.

Please dig deep and support this fantastic cause.

Thank you!!

My updates 14

They summited on the 21st and are now back in England. We are now take donations for those who have promised money when they have completed. Have a look at the new pictures over the next few days, there's loads there.

Message from Webby Day Five - '4 hours sleep, then we are trying to summit. The wall was grim, what a flipping experience'

18/03/13 22:40

Update from Webby:- Day 2 done. All safe and at camp. Feel a little tingle in the head but nothing major. 3000 mt up now, so half way in terms of height.

15/03/13 13:59

Message from Webby:- "Acclimatisation day went well. Starts for real tomorrow - let's have it". Short and succinct, but you get the idea they are enjoying it.

14/03/13 11:44

The team have now left Plymouth and are on their way to Heathrow for an overnight stay (thanks to FES). They will leave our shores at 0500 tomorrow, onto Amsterdam and then connect to Tanzania. Good luck to the lads, let's hope they can do it.

My charity

St Luke's Hospice Plymouth

St Luke's Hospice Plymouth

Charity Registration No. 280681

When faced with the reality of coping with life-limiting illness, we believe that all patients should be entitled to the very best care available. St Luke´s has been providing specialist palliative medical and nursing care, free of charge, to patients from Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall for more than twenty-five years. A registered charity, we are passionate about offering our patients dignity and choice at a time in their lives when they may feel they have none. Our vision is to provide the best end of life care to all patients wherever their `preferred place of care´ might be - Hospice, Hospital or Home. The St Luke´s network of care stretches far beyond the walls of the Hospice inpatient unit at Turnchapel, Plymouth reaching out to more than 2,000 patients each year. Alongside the specialist medical and nursing care, patients are also offered practical, financial, emotional and spiritual support. Government funding covers less than 30% of the cost of caring for inpatients. We therefore have to raise at least £3.5 million from the local community every year so the fundraising never stops! That is why your donation and support is so important.
