Art at the Heart of the RUH is the charitably funded arts programme for the Royal United Hospital NHS Trust in Bath. Its mission is to deliver a programme of integrated arts projects for the comfort, health and well being of patients, staff and the wider hospital community. Art at the Heart was established in 2000 and continuously provides a varying collection of temporary exhibitions, permanent loans and commissions of art work; including paintings, photographs, sculptures, courtyards developments and the design of hospital areas.

The arts programme offers many benefits to the hospital community including: 

♥   Opportunities for patients, visitors and staff to experience and participate in the arts

♥    Opportunities to boost morale and enhance the hospital environment

♥    Development of closer relationships between the RUH and the community is serves

♥    Scope to stage activities and events that expand the experience of art and creativity

♥    Support for the work and development of local and regional artists

♥    Promotion of the RUH as a public space for quality arts projects.

 

Art at the Heart does not receive NHS funding therefore all donations will go into maintaining the art programme.
