Morrisons Great South Run 2015 · 25 October 2015 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I had a stroke on 25th October 2012 and received a stent in my vertebral artery in a clinical trial (VIST-Vertebral Ischaemic Stent Trial) run by St George's University, London and supported by the Stroke Association. Running has been my road to recovery and this will be my furthest (and first for charity).  It is payback time to the Stroke Association and a "thank you" to all those in the Wickwar Wunners who have encouraged me along the way. I am also one of the lucky ones and this will be a poignant anniversary.  Our friend in Spain suffered a stroke in January and is still in hospital, struggling to get her life back. Our prayers are with Anne. Please donate to support the work of the Stroke Association helping those who need longer term assistance.

My target is under 2 hours, but I am hoping to stretch that down to 1 hour 45 minutes.
