I have always believed that there are 3 stages to life: Learn, Earn and Return. Every prophet, philosopher, poet and sage that has ever lived has always given us one unified message: that to serve other people with dignity and a pure intention is the highest level of living that we can possibly achieve. I hope to follow this advice.
Throughout my life, I have been grateful to my family and friends for their support. I am fortunate enough to have had a second chance to get the qualifications that led me to the profession that I love and the opportunity to work with people that I admire. When I think of people who do not have this, there is an urge inside me that asks a question, how can I help to create these magical feelings in them?
I believe that everyone should be given a fair chance in life and a good foundation upon which to build a future. Some of us (including all of the people reading this message!) are lucky because we have been given this. For others, however, an education, a home and a bit of love and support to help them meet the challenges of a demanding world, is something that they can only dream of. I hope to help make their dream come true.
Later this year, I will be going on an expedition to the Himalayas. The trip expenses will be self-funded and all of the money that is donated will go directly towards the charity that I am supporting - Take Heart India (for details on the charity please visit http://www.takeheartindia.org/). Take Heart India focuses on helping Indian children get a good educational platform upon which they can build their lives. This charity is fully made up of volunteers, which means that every penny goes directly to this cause.
