Barclays Wheels for Change · 18 September 2015 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit the our Wheels for Change JustGiving page.
On Friday 18 September, we will be a taking part in the Barclays Wheels for Change 100km London Sportive. Our very own Simon"Froom Froom" Grimwood will be leading out the peloton. The domestiques include: Chris McCandless, Mai Trinh, Alex Chow, Martin Connolly, David Deane, Chris Wallace, Richard Woo, Alexandra Petrescu, Neil Brennan, Gordon McIntosh, Kate Wootton and Rajeev Samaranayake.
Leaving the Olympic Park and exiting suburbia close to the Hainault Country Park we’ll cross the South Weald North of Brentwood and ride towards Roxwell where the route picks up on the 2014 Stage 3 Tour de France route through Essex. We’ll pass through pretty villages such as Roxwell and Fyfield before dropping through North Weald and the edge of Epping Forest. The route then passes through Epping itself closely followed by Theydon Bois, Loughton and Woodford before returning to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for a well-earned lap of honour outside the London 2012 Olympic Velodrome.
Wheels for Change is an annual fundraising cycling challenge, led by Barclays colleagues to raise money for charity. This year, Wheels for Change is raising money for the Prince’s Trust, one of Barclays’ UK charity partners. The Prince’s Trust specifically focuses on 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed, struggling at school or at risk of exclusion.
At Barclays we want to help the next generation achieve their ambitions. Our 5 Million Young Futures goal is our commitment to do this and by working with organisations like the Prince’s Trust we are able to support the next generation, helping them to build stronger futures for themselves and their families. This fundraising initiative will help to invest in the future; Barclays employees are invited to take part and to help us to support more young people to achieve their ambitions – this is what Citizenship at Barclays does.
Please help support this great cause. No matter how small or large your contribution may be, it will make a huge difference!
Many thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the finish line
