I am running for ME because it is often misunderstood. Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E) is a neurological illness and has varying degrees of severity. It is a horribly disabling illness which affects people's lives and sufferers often need support from family and carers to manage their simple day to day living - which many of us take for granted.   Many severe ME sufferers are wheelchair-bound, house-bound or bed-bound.

I am running for ME because a friend of mine, Luke, suffers from it and I have seen how this terrible illness affects him and his family. Every single penny raised will help bring awareness and help fund the necessary research.  

My intention is to donate £1 for every kilometer I run from now until 17^th May (I will be tracking my runs on Nike+).  I plan to bank in my ‘mileage’ at the end of every month.
