Birmingham canal relay run · 4 October 2016

RedR UK strengthens the capacity of agencies, aid workers and affected communities to prepare, respond, and recover from disaster. We enable effective, inclusive, and sustainable response to complex humanitarian crisis.

Story

Did you know that Birmingham has more canals than Venice? And that Birmingham forms the inspiration for Lord of the Rings?

Home of Ozzy Osbourne, Cadbury's chocolate factory and the Balti triangle, this city has 7 new Brummies.

We're team canaltourists and we are all new graduates in the Atkins Birmingham office. Our team is:

Alex Bees

Hannah Carey

Cathair Dixon

Fran Downey

Josh Hobday

Harris Hussain

Stephen Jones

We've decided to run the equivalent length of Birmingham's canals, all 165km of them to raise money for RedR, Atkins' corporate charity. RedR “rebuild lives in times of disaster by training, supporting and providing aid workers to relief programmes across the world", please find more details of the amazing work they carry out at http://www.redr.org.uk/en/our-impact/what-we-do/.

On Saturday 5th November, we're going to relay run along the Birmingham/Worcester canal from Gas Street Basin to the University of Birmingham campus the Vale until the total distance has been reached.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and please donate if you can.
