Story

In August 2015, one of my closest friend's was in a horrific accident whilst riding his bike in the Cotswold Sportive. He lost control of his bike; fell under a car and was dragged several metres by the car. It left him with numerous broken bones and a severe head injury, which put him in a coma. We were told that he would never wake up.

4 weeks on, thanks to his determination, bloody stubbornness, and a complete miracle - He woke up. Jordan continues to make incredible progress and defies everyone's expectations of what is possible. I will never forget the moment he said "hello" to me. After weeks of thinking that he was gone forever and that he'd never be the same, my dear friend said "hello" - I cried... As you can imagine.

If it was not for the Great Western Air Ambulance and the fellow cyclists that helped lift the car off him, this story would be very different and Jordan would no longer be with us. However, thanks to their incredible work, I am able to say that Jordan is still here and definitely is not going anywhere!

So, on the 5th of March 2016, I'll be doing an 18 mile bike ride (18 miles!!) in the name of #TeamJordan. As someone who can only just about clock a mile on the bikes in the gym, if I get even close to 18 miles it'll be a very very big deal! You could donate a billion pounds but it would never be enough to cover the value of saving my friend's life, because Jordan's life is priceless - all life is priceless. So please please donate generously, not just for Jordan, but also for future incidents and the lives that will be saved thanks to the Air Ambulance and their fantastic work.

Thank you!! - August x
