I'm saddling up for a gruelling 120-mile bike ride...in the dark!

Starting on 20th July, I will set off from Hackney and make my way, through the night, to the sunny Suffolk coastal town of Dunwich, all in the name of the Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK)!

SMK  work with people to tackle the root causes of social, economic and environmental injustice, helping individuals and groups to work together and strengthen their voices, to make a real impact and create lasting change.

If you’d like to help SMK support those who need it the most – those who are marginalised or with few resources – to speak out, take action and influence policy on issues that matter to them or their community, then please help me reach my target of £600.

So for those of you strapped for cash, £5 will buy you a mile. If you can afford it, £50 buys 10 miles!

Your money will help SMK in some of their core areas of work, including:

•    Training up and down the country in planning and strategy, empowering people to have a voice;
•    Special projects working with teenagers in London, encouraging them to get involved in issues they care about;
•    Work challenging laws, policies and regulations that diminish community groups’ ability to have their voices heard.
