My story

The Centre helps people with MS stay as agile, dextrous and mobile as possible, for as long as possible.

They offer Oxygen Therapy, Physiotherapy, Counselling, Reflexology, Accupuncture, and much more, as well as the chance to see specialists and meet with other people living with this devastating disease.

MS affects about 1700 people in Bristol, with about 100 people being diagnosed each year.  The new Centre, in Bradley Stoke will be able to provide therapies for 600 people.  It attacks people in the prime of their lives-usually between 20 and 40.  There is no known cure, and the symptoms are both progressive and permenant.

Symptoms vary from person to person, and can range from loss of vision, mobility problems, cognitive problems to extreme pain, and everything in between.

It can seriously erode someone's ability to live life to the full, reducing their self esteem and social life, it often leads into a spiral of isolation and depression.

Through the Centre, many people receive therapies which help to combat these symptoms, as well as the chance to meet other people with the same disease, providing an important vital social network.
