Seeing is Believing is a global initiative to help eliminate avoidable blindness. We help bring affordable eye-care to some of the poorest communities in the world. We’re a collaboration between Standard Chartered Bank and the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB).

Story

In 2005 I lost my job and my independence through sight loss.  In 2010 a simple operation restored 60% of my sight.  I swam around Burgh Island and raised enough money to enable 30 people in the Third World to have a sight saving operation. I want to keep going and raise £1000 by 21st March 2014.  80% of Third World Blindness is preventable.

Five members of The Coldest Journey team battled out the winter in Antarctica.  I have been followering their journey with interest and I want to support them in their efforts to raise $10m for Seeing is Believing by taking part in The Coldest Journey Challenge Yourself with a series of open water and pool swims.
