Ayaan Sanger is raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity
Story

I am doing a 5km Run with a few of my friends from UCS in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Our team is the UCS JB Leavers Team. Money going to Gosh will be used for New and improved equipment for visual field testing. Visual field testing is an integral part of monitoring the progress of children with neurological diseases including epilepsy, optic nerve disease and intracranial tumours. The ophthalmology department currently has two different visual field machines that are in regular use. This funding will allow replacement of these machines with a newer model – the Octopus perimeter.
This newer Octopus perimeter machine is more portable than the older machines meaning it can be taken up to children on the ward who have previously been unable to have formal assessment of their visual field.
The Octopus perimeter also works faster than previous visual field machines which makes it much more pleasant for young children.
