9 Days to Go!
Well, we have completed all our training rides (culminating in a 43 miler today), brought all our equipment, booked our accommodation, renewed our live insurance (!), checked and double checked our equipment. All thats left to do is actually do it! Nerves and self doubt are setting in!
Many thanks to all those who ae already donated (we have some more to add from our recent non-uniform day) you are really motivating us to do well. Our target is 10hrs!!! I'll let you know how we do.
Adam

Mr. Poland, Mr. Bacon, Mr. Johnson & Miss Hennessy are taking part in this event to raise as much money as possible for Regain. Having now realised just what we have entered, and the daunting challenge ahead of us, we have begun training in earnest! With 40 miles of cycling (up and down mountains), climbing from the base of Snowdon to the summit, and having to canoe over 1 1/2 miles we have set ourselves a target of achieveing this in under 10 hours!
We are raising money in a variety of ways (including sponsored sports events) and any donations would be gratefully received. Donations can be made at The Aylesbury Vale Academy (just put in an envelope with 'Snowdonia Charity' as the label and hand in at student reception).
The challenge starts in the heart of Snowdonia in Llanberis where our team will set off on the first leg of a 40-mile circular cycling route around Mt. Snowdon (20 miles before we climb Snowdon and 20 miles after). Along the way we canoe a course on Llyn (Lake) Gwynant before returning to the start/finish point in Llanberis.
All funds raised support the charity REGAIN, the only organisation dedicated solely to supporting men and women who become tetraplegic (severely paralysed) as the result of a sporting accident including riding, diving, cycling and rugby injuries.
