RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page and helping fundraise for the RNLI.  They are a charity that saves lives at sea and provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and RoI, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales.


The RNLI is funded entirely from donations, yet it provides an essential public service. Here are some facts:

  • The cost: £140.6m in 2011 - and receives no cash from the government
  • 2012: Launches - 8,905, People rescued - 7,976, lives saved - 354
  • Tower Lifeboat station is the busiest station in the RNLI
So if you're anywhere near the Thames or at the beach in the UK or RoI, you can be safe in the knowledge that the RNLI will be there to help you and your family if needed.
