I am part of a team consisting of 15 riders cycling coast to coast across the French Pyrenees on 22nd-27th June 2014. We are cycling in support of a close friend who lost her brother to pneumonia just 2 days after his 37th birthday, leaving behind two young sons. The aim is to raise money in Ben's name for Winstons Wish, a charity which supports bereaved children.

To give you some statistics, 'Biking for Ben' will cover a distance of 630kms (400miles) over 6 days with an ascent of over 55,000 feet (approx. 10 miles or 16kms), climbing 12 Cols (mountains!) and spending well over 40 hours in the saddle. All of the Cols we will climb have featured in the Tour de France including the very famous Col du Tourmalet, Col d'Aubisque and Col d'Aspin, the three most used Cols in the 100 year history of the race.

Please give generously for this worthy cause and help children who have lost parents live with their grief and rebuild positive futures.
