We are a group of teenage lads: Jake Stanley (aged 16), Giles Neal (aged 15), Henry Wellbelove (aged 16) and Jamie Rawstorne (aged 17). Last year we walked from Bedford to Upper Gravenhurst, dressed as Santa, for charity. The route we took was about 26 miles. We did the walk in mid December so we had limited daylight hours to complete the walk. However, we completed the walk in a good time and felt as though we should do something more challenging this year. 

After much thought, we decided to cycle from Cardiff to Upper Gravenhurst, Bedfordshire. To keep it traditional, we decided to complete the cycle in mid December. We will have very limited daylight hours and it will be a race against the sun! The route we are taking is about 180 miles and we are completing it over 2 days. Each day will consist of about 9 hours cycling time due to the restricted sunlight hours. We will be cycling about 90 miles each day. We are carrying out this cycle on 12th December-13th December 2009.

This cycle ride is in recognition of BASIC (Brain and Spine Injury Charity). It is a great charity that not only helps and supports people who suffer everyday from Brain and Spine related injuries and illnesses but also supports their family. This charity has a great impact on many peoples lives and has helped many people. Personally, we think every mile will be worth it!
