Bobbie used to be the sort of person for whom a cold would be pneumonia, a paper cut a gaping wound.  But since discovering she had pancreatic cancer in September 2008 she became an inspiration to many, handling the diagnosis as a minor problem and still making plans for the future.

 

It was while Bobbie was having a spell of respite care at the PTH that she learned she only had weeks left and the hospice became her home in her last month.  She maintained a cheerful disposition, still making people around her laugh.  Much of that was down to the care she received in this welcoming environment.  Staff were always kind and friendly, even when they had to fight through the crowds of visitors to get to her bedside.
