This year’s event is taking place on Sunday 22 May at Whitelee Windfarm, one of Projects Divisions major ongoing contracts - Europe’s largest windfarm site situated on Eaglesham Moor, just outside Glasgow.
There will again be the option of walking or cycling a specially selected 8 mile route.
The event is being held in memory of our colleague Stuart Wilson who sadly passed away last year. Stuart’s family is pleased to support this fundraising event and have chosen the Accord Hospice as the nominated charity for this year:-
ACCORD provides specialist palliative care to over 750 patients and families each year
- This care is provided by a multi-disciplinary team of over 50 health professionals who are supported by teams of 25 non-medical staff and over 350 volunteers
- It costs £2.75 million each year to provide this specialist care of which ACCORD have to raise £1.75 million from their supporters (£4800 per day).
- Facilities include: 8 bed In Patient Unit, Day therapy Centre (up to 15 patients per day), Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Complimentary Therapies, 5 Community Nurse Specialists, Social Work and an Education department working closely with the University of the West of Scotland and local care Homes.
