Story
It’s that time of year again where we take part in the BCNS 24 Hour challenge
We have been taking part every year for the last 5 years this will be our sixth, each year we try to raise money for charity and this year Marie Curie is our chosen charity, it’s also a special year as last year disastrously we sank our boat, Carpe Vinum this year we are in a new boat Mary Beth and hope for no problems on the challenge. The support we got from other boaters last year was amazing.
So have a read below for what the challenge is and where possible please support us and our chosen charity.
The BCNS Challenge will take place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May 2019, starting at 8am on Saturday and finishing at 2pm on Sunday. The event is open to everyone with a boat licensed for use on Canal and River Trust canals. Historic working boats and pairs are especially welcome.
We also welcome walking teams, so if you don’t have a boat but want to explore the BCN please feel free to join us.
Boats may start at any point on the BCN but should finish at this year’s designated finish point. This will be in the centre of Birmingham, exact location to be confirmed. There will be moorings reserved for the finish of the event.
Participants may navigate for as long as they like during the 30 hour period up to a maximum of 24 hours.
