Thank you for visiting the BIW Technologies fundraising page.
This is the first time a BIW team has tackled the COINS 3 Peaks Challenge, and any sponsorship you can offer will be an excellent incentive as we battle the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales – climbing more than 3,000 metres (or 10,000 feet) – in under 24 hours.
Please dig deep and sponsor us online. It will make all the blisters, aches and pains worthwhile!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: CARE International UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
One month to go: a BIW update
The BIW team, which includes chief executive
Colin Smith , finance director Bill Flind and system development director
Brandon Parkes , have already received pledges of over £1500.
As well as seeking pledges of financial support, we have also been busy training to ensure we successfully complete the challenge,” says Smith. “The BIW team leader is our financial controller Bruce Wilkinson; he has already organised some gruelling training walks in the Surrey Hills, and just before Easter he led us on a ten-hour climb of four peaks in Snowdonia. The next activity is a mountain awareness course in the Lake District, followed by an ascent of
Scafell Pike .
Brandon is using his preparation for the London Marathon as training, while IT systems manager Danny Polaine is currently nursing an ankle injury but should be training again soon.
Several BIW customers and partner organisations are also participating in the event, and others are also getting involved through sponsorship (I think some just like the idea of making us suffer!). Gleeds Collaboration Services, for example, has already pledged us some money – but if all the aches, pains, sweat and blisters are to be worthwhile, we want more to do the same.
