The Channel Challenge · 11 April 2007

Shooting Star Children's Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, we are here to make every moment count.

Story

Last year a group of us took to the Thames and competed in The Great River Race. Following on from our success we have upped the ante and are now taking on The English Channel. However not content with it being a challenge in itself we are also racing a group of determined, fearless and well trained girls called The Sisterhood in THE CHANNEL CHALLENGE - Beauty versus Brawn.

In the English Channel, where our expected 6 hour journey will be passing over 70 liners and 300 other ships, there are no foregone conclusions......And these girls mean business....... Let the battle commence!

We are raising money for 2 charities through our efforts.

1) The CHASE Ben Hollioake Fund supporting life-limited children. These are children who are not expected to live past the age of 19.

2) The Babes in Arms Appeal, carrying out research into cot death, still birth and infant abnormalties

All the money you donate will go straight into the charities, so dig deep and thank you very much.

We will also be throwing other fundraising events to make a significant difference to these charities so keep your eyes on www.brotherhoodchallenge.com

Yours in heavenly pursuit.
