I believe the charity we have chosen to be a very worthwhile cause.  As a father myself with two young daughters, it means an awful lot to me to be able to give something back to those who are less fortunate than myself.

 

I have recently chosen The Rainbow Trust as being the charity that is supported by BSS for this year as it covers the whole of the UK, is purely funded by charitable donations and we could make a real difference to what the Rainbow Trust can provide during the course of this financial year, ie £50,000 would be enough to provide respite care to 35 families.

 

The Rainbow Trust provides practical and emotional support to families when a child has a life threatening or terminal illness and their support lasts from diagnosis through to bereavement and beyond.  They work with 1,000 families each year and are fundraising to support more families in the future.  Support is provided through respite and bereavement breaks for the whole family at the Rainbow houses together with flexible, practical and emotional support in the families’ own homes.
