My story

Angel Winnie will be 3 on the 9th May this year, and even though we've met our Target we really want to exceed it by as much as possible. thank you. xxx

Our beautiful baby girl was stillborn on 9th May 2009.

Baby Beat is the charity at the hospital where Baby Winnie was born.

When Baby Winnie died it was the most traumatic and devastating thing we have ever been through and as a newly married couple who have had a healthy baby already its the last thing you expect to happen.

We held a Summer Garden Party on 26th July 2009, which was the day we had planned for Winnie's Christening which raised over £670 and also raised £115 in donations following Winnie's funeral.

Her big brother Elliott's nursery, "Tiggiwinkles" in Elswick held a summer party on 26th June 2010 which also raised £150. Thank you Kim and Pauline for arranging that and choosing Winnie's appeal as the charity for this year.

On 10th July 2010 I did a carboot with another angel mummy and raised another £75.

Baby Beat helps provide vital extra equipment and support for mums to be and new born neonatal babies. Its a local charity and if you know anyone who is planning children, is pregnant or has a new baby it could save the life of someone you love.

Every donation is just as worthwhile, however big or small and even if we can raise enough to save one precious tiny babies life it is worthwhile. No family should have to go through what we are going through now, and i'm sure no one can even imagine it happening to someone they love.

What the Baby Beat Appeal aims to do:

  • The Maternity Unit's capital budget provides essentials but Baby Beat provides extra equipment to reduce the need to wait for equipment and to be able to offer the best in monitoring enabling any problems to be picked up at the earliest point.
  • Its midwives and medical staff are experienced and dedicated but need access to the latest technology, The Baby Beat Appeal allows them to take advantage of the very best .
  • Baby Beat helps to save lives of Mums to be, unborn babies and neonatal babies.

Between 2006 - 2008 baby beat provided:

4 x Sonicaid Monitors

2 x Non Episiotomy Birthing Teaching Aids

1 x Prompt Birthing Simulator

1 x Ventouse Machine

In 2004 - 2006 baby Beat provided:

8 x Infusion Pumps (Delivery Suite)

1 x Bladder Scanner

1 x Oximeter (Delivery Suite)

3 x Datascopes (2 for Ward M1, 1 for Ante Natal Clinic)

This equipment is vital but very very expensive so we need to raise as much money as we can. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Nothing I can do or say can take away your pain, but if we can help other families avoid the heartache, then so much the better.
