My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are aiming to raise lots of money for this fantastic charity, with a bit of fun and one hell of a prize!

On the 18th March 8 colleagues will attempt in turn to beat the world record for eating the most number of beans with a cocktail stick in 5 minutes!  The current record stands at 226 and has stood now for nearly 15 years.  It is time it was beaten

There is a very good chance one of us will join the other greats such as Usain Bolt, Jonathon Edwards and Sir Chris Hoy in being represented in the holy grail that is the Guinness Book of World Records.   The next 5 weeks will all be about our preparation; working on our fitness, toning the muscles in the thumb, index finger and tongue.  We will build the necessary stamina to maintain our concentration; mental agility and physical exertion for a whole 5 minutes.  We will be dedicated to bringing home that formidable prize!

The 10 athletes are;

David Fairclough; Stewart Leonard; Gary Eccles; Martin Salisbury; Kevin Blows; Milly Lewis; William Geddes; Jim Whistler;

Our first challenge will be the selection of the beans, we don't want too much sauce, we definitley don't want squashy ones and if they are too hard they will bounce of the plate when you try picking up with the cocktail stick.

The attempt will take place in the Coventry store support centre at Lunchtime.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your etails are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Let the donations flood in and the farts begin!!!!!
