Story
Have you ever thought what it feels like to sit on a bicycle saddle and pedal for 1000-miles? Well I guess if you're a professional cyclist like Lance Armstrong then it’s all in a day’s work, but for us it is an immense challenge. We plan to leave Barcelona on the 20th June and then cycle to Girona, Perpignan, Narbonne, Carcassonne, Toulouse, Agen, Bergerac, Angouleme, Poitiers, Angers, Alencon, Caen, Winchester, finally arriving in Edge Village Green, Gloucestershire at 5.00pm on the 3rd July just as the village Fete is in full swing. There are 12-cyclists in the team, an interesting mix of young(ish), old and very old, some of the team have never cycled before and their first challenge was buy a bike, so who knows what might happen along the way!
Unlike many charity fund raising events this bike ride is self funded, meaning each person taking part is covering their own costs (around £750) so all money raised will go directly to support the work of the Williams Syndrome Foundation.
The cyclists, the backup team and everyone whose life has been impacted by Williams Syndrome thank you for taking the time and trouble to visit this site and for (hopefully) making a donation.
Best regards,
Team William Syndrome
