Story

In September this year, 8 cyclists from Barclaycard will cycle from San Diego on the West coast of the United States to St Augustine, Florida in the East, crossing deserts and mountains in a gruelling seven week, 3,200 mile challenge.

All of us are amateur cyclists aiming to raise as much money for charity as possible. Our employer, Barclaycard, has covered the costs of the trip meaning that all the funds we raise will be divided equally between our four chosen charities: the BBC Children in Need appeal, the Macmillan cancer trust, the Alzheimer’s Society and CORD.

If you want to single out a particular rider for extra encouragement, please use the comment box to identify them.

Finally, if you are a taxpayer we can reclaim the tax and add a bit more to your contribution – just tick the Gift Aid box and we’ll do the rest.

Cord is an international charity that works with people in highly sensitive and oppressive contexts to transform dysfunctional relationships into those that create peaceful & inclusive societies. Our vision, mission and values are inspired by the Christian faith. Our Vision is of a world where all people live in the fullness of peace; having the freedom to flourish and live free from fear. Our Mission is to transform dysfunctional relationships between individuals and communities and those holding power into positive and thriving relationships built on mutual dependency and trust. Cord works in partnership with local community based organisations to develop their skills, knowledge and expertise with a view to enabling them to more effectively advocate on behalf of communities with government, private companies, and others with power and leverage to impact the quality of life of disadvantaged communities.
