As many of you will know, all of us taking part in this charity event love lots of sleep and our warm, cosy beds at home! However, on the 5th October (no matter what the weather!!) we will be sleeping rough in the middle of Manchester in order to help tackle the root causes of youth homelessness.

Every year 83,000 young people find themselves without a place to stay - Yes, it makes you feel so lucky to have a roof over your head, doesn't it?!

1 in 8 of these young people have been physically or sexually abused. 1 in 3 will attempt to commit suicide.

We are giving up our beds for the night to make a positive difference to these young people's lives (along with their families and carers, too).

Here's a bit of context around how your donations could make a difference:

• £5 could pay for a hot meal
• £10 could buy a set of pots and pans to help somebody kit out their new home if they finally get off the streets
• £18 (if you're feeling generous) could pay for a warm shower and hygiene kit to help a young person prepare for a job interview

As you can imagine, all of the above would have such a huge impact on these young people's lives... Whether it be making one night that little bit easier to deal with after having a proper meal, right through to giving them a life changing opportunity such as finding a job and being able to get off the streets.
