We are all affected by Cancer. The more research is done the better the preventatives and treatments become.Therefore in September I am joining 30 others in cycling from Winchester near the south coast UK through France and Spain to Gilbraltar to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
When I heard of this initiative I was in my early forties. My weight had crept up to 14 1/2 stone and I couldn't cycle 5 miles without seeking a rest. A year on, I am over a stone down and training hard. This is an opportunity to follow an exercise and diet regime under medical supervision to collect further evidence on the implications for cancer incidence and progression over a 2 year period. It is also an opportunity to do something difficult but worthwhile. We will cycling over100 miles a day for 14 days.
All funds raised go directly to Cancer Research UK.
