On the 25th/26th May I am tackling the London 2 Brighton Challenge. A huge challenge, a test of endurance and determination, physical and mental strength. I need to cover 100km, from London all the way to Brighton. I may jog a bit, walk a lot perhaps even crawl but I will get there. I have set myself this challenge to raise funds for Ollie Garnett. Ollie is a local two year old boy who needs an operation to help him walk. He has a condition called PVL (periventricular leucomalacia) and has been diagnosed with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy – this means he can’t walk.

Ollie is on the waiting list for a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy operation by Dr Park at the St Louis Children’s Hospital in America.  Dr Park specialises in helping children who have the same problem.  He thinks Ollie is an excellent candidate and that if he has the operation his mobility will improve and there is a good chance he will be able to walk. The operation costs £60,000.  

I do love a challenge but this will be the toughest I have ever set myself. When I heard Ollie's story I really wanted to do something to help, something that would contribute to the fund raising, to give Ollie a chance to walk.
