The Matt Hampson Foundation inspires and supports young people seriously injured through sport. Through expert physiotherapy, specialist personal training, support, mentoring and advice, the Foundation helps people with life-changing injuries to get busy living again.

Story

Matt Hampson is an inspirational figure. Despite being paralysed from the neck down, after a training accident with England Under-21s, he leads a busy, active life, and remains completely involved with the game he loves. He coaches his local school team, Oakham. With his help, they were runners-up in the Daily Mail Under-18s Schools Cup.

He is also a respected rugby journalist, and has just set up the Matt Hampson Foundation, which helps and supports young people who've suffered serious sporting injuries - all this, despite still requiring two fulltime carers, and being unable to breathe without the aid of a ventilator.

On May the 21st, representatives of all 12 Aviva Premiership clubs will be setting off from Rugby, in Warwickshire, to walk to Twickenham, for the Premiership final, on the 28th. As well as raising money for the Matt Hampson Foundation, they'll be fundraising for Special Effect - a charity which helps severely disabled children, and of which Matt is patron - and the Rugby Football Union's Injured Players Foundation.

This is the third year of the Walk4Matt, and the first since Matt established his foundation. We aim to make this the biggest and best yet. To achieve that, we need your support.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
