Story
On Saturday 1st May I'll be completing the 3 peaks of Yorkshire Challenge to hopefully raise a bit of money for Camille's appeal. The three peaks is a 25 mile trek over 3 peaks in Yorkshire that we'll be trying to do within 10 hours.
As they say in shampoo ads, that's the "science bit". What it means is that Camille's tumour is too large to be surgically removed as it is dangerously close to her brain, and has to be shrunk first, through chemotherapy. Camille is too young for radiotherapy. The good news is that after almost 9 months of chemotherapy the tumour is now shrinking away from the brain stem so that surgery is a real option.
Camille is being treated at Addenbrooke's in Oxfordshire.
Camille’s Appeal has been created to support children under five suffering from Brain Tumours. As an organisation we not only recognise that long-term survival is the first goal for any family going through this ordeal. However, Camille’s Appeal also recognises that life after treatment is as important to these brave children and their families.
I know that to Camille's parents, Hayley and Martin, and not forgetting the big sister Lucia, it really does mean the world that people who have never met Camille are willling to do the most extraordinary things (I think they mean Barry's poor wife, having to wash his socks after this walk!)
Every penny really does count here, so if you can, please donate!
Many thanks in advance!
