We look forward to welcoming you. William Philpott has been Professor of the History of Warfare in The Department of War Studies, King’s College London since 2011. His current research interests lie in the field of First World War military history at the strategic, operational and tactical levels.  His book “Bloody Victory: The Sacrifice on the Somme and the Making of the Twentieth Century" was published in 2009. He is currently writing a new study of the strategic and military conduct of the First World War, War of Attrition, to be published by Little, Brown in 2013.
