On 14 August we will be setting off on a 420 mile charity cycle ride across Ireland on a Tandem!
We are tackling the Mizen to Malin Challenge to raise vital funds for the Multiple System Atrophy Trust, the charity which supports people & families with MSA - a degenerative neurological condition for which there is currently no cure. We also do this in memory of Becky's father who suffered from this condition.
To do this we decided (very late one evening!) to cycle from one end of Ireland to the other...on a tandem! (we had never ridden a tandem bike before at this point!).
To add to the fun of the challenge and hopefully raise a few more funds we have an Elvis theme and will be cycling in Elvis jumpsuits and cape!!! Believe it or not the legend himself had a tandem!
We aim to complete the cycle in 6 days and no ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ for us we will be camping each night under the ‘Blue Moon’!
Also joining us will be Gareth Jackson-Hunt (Becky's husband) & Sophie Kostin as our 'support crew' to set up our tents, feed us at regular intervals and supply vaseline etc! Also kitted out in Elvis jumpsuits....
