Story

I'VE DONE IT!!!!

Yes to Life helped save my life. Now I want to help them. And I've done this by running a 10K today, 9 May, in Liverpool. My time was 64 minutes and 40 seconds. Yes!! This is a really big achievement for me after spending the last three years having surgery and treatment for breast cancer. See how I got on here:

My story:

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2007, age 43. I spent the next three years in and out of hospitals having surgery and treatment. This meant that I lost my previous fitness levels, I had always been a keen runner and enjoyed physical activity. You can read more about me on my website www.beingsarah.com

I am a proud NHS patient, and during my treatment for breast cancer I was helped by the amazing charity, Yes to Life. They helped me find advice and gave me financial support, to make sure I gave myself the best chance of staying alive, by making my own integrated individual treatment plan using other doctors to support my NHS treatments. Now I want to give back. I am raising money for them by running the Liverpool Women's 10k on 9 May 2010.

Since January 2010, six weeks after my last surgery, I have been training every week with Karen Choudhary, who has been pushing me and setting me homework.

Your donations will help Yes to Life to help people like me. Thank you for your support.
