I’m sure like me you have lost or know of loved ones, family or friends that are suffering or have lost their life to the dreaded Cancer. I have lost members of my family to cancer and also know friends and family that have beaten it or are currently fighting it. For many of us Cancer is often something at the back of our minds and we worry about our children, loved ones and indeed ourselves and what we would do if it strikes.
 
Instead of just worrying about it my friend Pauline and I have decided that we want to do something and we have therefore decided to raise money for two very worthy Charities. The Institute of Cancer Research (www.icr.ac.uk <http://www.icr.ac.uk>) with its focus on how to prevent and cure Cancer and St Catherine’s Hospice (www.stch.org.uk <http://www.stch.org.uk>) because of the wonderful care and support it provides for those with a progressive life threatening illness such as Cancer.

We have set ourselves an initial target of £10,000 (obviously we’d love to raise more) and we are going to raise this through a series of fundraising events and generous donations by people like yourselves.
