Story

So i thought it was about time to get the running shoes back on, and with the help of you lovely people raise some more money for another wonderful cause!

This time i will be running the Water of Life Half Marathon in Marlow on 25th March in support of The Abolicao Trust - a charity supporting children and young people in Brazil & South Africa through the amazing force that is the Capoeira!!

As most of you know i am slightly obsessed with the capoeira art... an afro-brazilian fusion of martial arts, music &dance! I visited the children's project in Brazil 2 years ago and saw first hand the amazing work that is going on - free capoeira lessons, music lessons, language classes... For these kids, it provides invaluable opportunities to build confidence and self-esteem in a safe supportive environment, and most importantly help keep them off the streets giving some hope for a better future - much needed when much that surrounds these young people is a life of poverty, crime & HIV/AIDS.

A few of us from the group will be visiting the project in South Africa this Easter, and it just seemed like a timely opportunity to raise some money to take with us so please give generously!!

For more info on the amazing work that The Abolicao Trust does please see...

www.abolicao-trust.org

and lastly, but by no means least, a special thanks to Keiskamma Friends UK who are facilitating the transfer of all this wonderfully donated money to our capoeira group in South Africa.

Axe Capoeira!
