Story

Peals of Bells are rung to mark important occasions and the Queen's
Diamond Jubilee this year is very special.

A successful peal lasts about three and a half hours!.

A member of the Rotary Club of Brackley, Paul learned to ring church bells as a new hobby in 1999 in time to 'ring in' the new millennium.

Paul is to ring a peal for the first time with the ringing team at St
Peter's church in Brackley to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.

Ringing a peal is one of the ultimate challenges for bellringers and
will represent a real achievement.

To mark the occasion you are invited to sponsor the ringing. Funds
raised will be used to fund the construction of a much needed well in
Mithuluni, Africa. A local campaign has been focussed on this appeal for some time.

Bell ringing is a traditional skill which needs to attract new recruits
as presently there are more bells than ringers locally. It is a very
satisfying pastime. It is a team activity which requires good
coordination with other team members. It offers good company, good
exercise, some travel to local churches.

To make contact with local bellringers go to www.cul-branch.info
