St Wilfrid’s Hospice provides tailored end of life care both in the community and at our Hospice, supporting our patients living with a terminal illness, and their family and friends. We rely on the generous support of our community to raise the £10million we need each year to fund our services.

Story

<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>My mum has thrown down the guantlet to run a marathon having herself run and power-walked them all over the world.&nbsp;</p> <p>I have just completed the London Marathon in 4 hours 23 minutes and 42 seconds for St Wilfrid's Hospice in Chichester who perform the most amazing care for patients and families affected by illness.&nbsp;http://www.stwh.co.uk/</p> <p>I used to be their paperboy when they first opened more than 20 years ago and I want to raise as much as I can to help them continue to carry out their fantastic work. Close sporting friends have had care at St Wilfrid's and I hope I can give them all the support I can having run the London Marathon.</p> <p>With training taking a severe hit with hamstring pulls, quad pulls and a very sore right foot which did not settle until the day before the race, I was unable to run for the last six weeks of training and had to resort to cycling.</p> <p>Muscle cramps from 13 miles saw me slow down at 15, walk a bit at 17, 19.5 and 23.5 but I did run the last mile and a half with back, hamstrings and calf muscles all protesting. The body may have been screaming to stop but your donations and support there was no excuses but to get over that finish line.</p> <p>You can help by donating, I know times are hard, but whatever you can give will be greatly received to help someone else in a time of great need.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">A gift of &pound;5 could help pay for 3 special care toothbrushes for our patients</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">A gift of &pound;10 could help pay for meals for 4 days for one patient</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">A gift of &pound;10 could help pay for one&nbsp;</span></span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">MRSA</span></span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">&nbsp;resistant pillow</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">A gift of &pound;20 could help pay for half an hour&rsquo;s specialist care from a St Wilfrid&rsquo;s Hospice nurse</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">A gift of &pound;25 could help pay for a uniform for a St Wilfrid&rsquo;s Hospice nurse</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">A gift of &pound;50 could help pay for 6 beakers with temperature regulated lids</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: &#39;Times New Roman&#39;;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">A gift of &pound;100 could help pay for the cost of one patient to visit the Day Hospice for one day</span></span></p> <p>It was an unforgettable day but worth all the pain to help St Wilfrid's Hospice.&nbsp;</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
