Story
My name is Ben Cooper, I’m an officer serving in the Rifles and have just returned from Afghanistan and 2 Rifles Op Herrick 10 tour. Sadly the Battalion have endured the bloodiest summer of fighting since British Forces deployed to Helmand province in 2006. The battle group suffered 23 killed in action and a further 65 seriously wounded.
On my return, I cycled from John O Groats to Lands End in an effort to raise much needed cash for The Battalion’s Injured Riflemen’s Fund & The Rifles Regimental Trust. I cycled a total of 991 miles in 10 days solo and unsupported collecting cash en route. I was joined by my girlfriend, Papillon Luck, for the last three days cycling from Bath to Lands End – a total of 245 undulating miles. Neither of us completed any form of training before the event and thus have very sore bums even now! ..... a small price to pay for such a good cause. If anyone would like to sponsor either or both of us, we would be extremely grateful. All donations will go to The Rifles Regimental Trust in order to help support their futures.
