I am taking up this 26 mile marathon on the South Downs for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. This will be my first marathon and a great challenge for myself as I've never ran longer than 12miles. 

I have chosen The Royal Marsden as my preferred charity because I sadly lost a good friend to Leukemia last year who was treated there. Carl was only 28 at the time of his death. Last year my Nan who is 76 was diagnosed with bone & breast cancer. She is currently being treated by The Royal Marsden with positive results. Cancer in any form can affect us no matter our age.

You never think it will happen to someone you know but sadly 1 in 3 of us are affected by cancer and this seems to be on the increase.
