Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you now know, Dad was diagnosed with Leukaemia at the start of 2010 and whilst he has no immediate plans of kicking the bucket, the reality is that he is seriously ill. Before Dad was diagnosed I had very little idea of what Leukaemia was let alone how it affects those who suffer from it.

Thanks to the amazing research work done by charities such as Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research the survival rate and quality of life for Leukaemia suffers has risen dramatically. I had no idea how much money it costs to research diseases like Leukaemia, and, more importantly, how much the medication costs to treat those affected.

We are reliably informed that if you are going to have Leukaemia then the type that Dad has is the best one to get. Whilst this is comforting in the short term the reality is that this is something that will never go away. It costs over   £100 a day for Dad´s medication let alone the consultants fee´s and tests. The research that Leukaemia charities do will help to reduce the cost of medication to those affected and, one day, hopefully find a cure for some of the 28,000 people diagnosed with a blood related disease each year.

The Lanzarote IronMan is well renowned as being the toughest IronMan in the world. Its comprises of three stages: Swim 3.8km, Bike 180km, Run 42km. I am aiming to complete the event in under 14 hours. This is the first event of this kind that I have ever undertaken and is a vast leap up from the distances that I have been doing up to this point. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Your donation today will go straight to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and will help them and charities like them to find a way of beating cancer once and for all. So please dig deep and donate now.
